The UK has a large selection of Christmas Markets to choose from. Each one offers something slightly different, but all of them guarantee a great selection of Christmas gifts and festive food!
Edinburgh is a magical city at the best of time, but at Christmas things get even more magical. Running from November – January, Edinburgh’s Christmas offers no shortage of things to see and do this winter. Enjoy Delicious Food and Drink with traditional crafts at both the Scottish and European Markets, or why not see the popular ‘La Clique Noel’ – the seasonal special of the award winning ‘La Clique’.
Christkindelmarkt in Leeds is one of the the UK’s most established German Markets, with traditional stalls, a festive atmosphere and wide selection of Christmas themed gifts right in the heart of Leeds City Centre. The market consists of over 40 wooden chalet stalls, selling a range of authentic German toys, jeweler, Christmas cards and decorations.
The Manchester Christmas Markets has returned this year, opening on November 10th and Closing 20th December. The main market hub is based in Albert Square, in front of the Town Hall, although the markets will run throughout the city centre. The Ice Rink is also back this year, based in Cathedral Gardens, this is great fun and really helps you get in the Christmas spirit.
You can’t go wrong for Christmas markets in London, whether you are visiting the fabulous Winter Wonderland or prefer the fantastic views of the Christmas markets at London Bridge. Winter Wonderland is one of the biggest Christmas markets in London, and features an open-air ice rink similar to that of Manchester. You could even take in the sparkling sites from the Giant observation Wheel. If the London Bridge markets is more of your thing however, you can find more than 60 sparking huts filled with festive goods, handmade crafts and delicious snacks!
Situated in and around Belfast’s beautiful City Hall, the market has expanded each year, offering an array of festive goodies! Hand-painted pottery and decorations from around Europe decorate the market stalls, not to mention the temptingly tantalising Candy Alley! There is plenty to see in this fabulous City, with a guaranteed real Irish welcome for all it’s visitors!
