Universities in the UK have a long history of attracting the best and brightest from India and also providing generous scholarships for meritorious students. This tradition spans centuries and multiple types and sources for scholarships and bursaries have been established to benefit hundreds of Indian students every year. GREAT scholarships from the British Council:Numerous scholarships covering a broad range of subjects have been launched by the British council working with the GREAT Britain campaign. Universities accepting GREAT scholarships are – Cranfield University, Imperial College London, Newcastle University, Robert Gordon University, Sheffield Hallam, The University of Bath, The University of Manchester, The University of Warwick, University of East Anglia, University of Kent, and the University of Nottingham.
Commonwealth scholarship and fellowship:These scholarships provided in conjunction with the Ministry of Human Resources Development, Government of India cover the following costs for one year- economy airfare for return international travel, tuition fee waiver, adequate funds to cover living expenses, and other allowances. British council India 70th anniversary scholarships:Covers full tuition fee for Master’s degree for Women pursuing STEM(Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) education.
Hornby scholarships:This scholarship funds English language teachers on the one year masters in TESOL at the University of Warwick. The costs covered by this scholarship are- visa fees and costs of approved language tests, return air tickets, tuition fees, and a monthly stipend to cover accommodation and all living expenses.
Scholarships funded by organizations and UK higher education institutions:These scholarships are provided by the UK and international government bodies, the European Commission, funding trusts, a number of research councils, industry and employers. These scholarships cover a wide range of degrees and research fellowships in a variety of subject areas.
Charles Wallace India Trust(CWIT) scholarships:These scholarships support Indians in mid-career to attain their professional, academic and artistic ambitions by spending time in the UK and expanding their international contacts
