Staffordshire University is known for its forward-thinking approach and has become a figurehead for its innovative teaching.  This university has won the Gold award for its excellence in teaching. 

The university continues to climb the ladder of success as it is one of the top 50 universities in the U.K. and also the winner of the improved student’s experience award. The university has won laurels through the academic performance of its students that 95.6 % of whom have secured employment after graduation or go on for further studies. The history of the university dates back to the year 1914.

 Staffordshire University Scholarships

The University of Staffordshire gives scholarships not only for their E.U. students but also for international students. The university offers two scholarships 

The Alumni Discount Scholarship:

The alumni provide a 20% discount to students from Staffordshire University who have completed an undergraduate degree or a taught postgraduate degree. Please note that this particular scholarship is not for students who have applied for a PGCE or integrated Master’s courses.

To avail the Alumni Discount Scholarship, one must go into further studies within two years of completing your previous studies.

SMART Scholarship

The amount for this scholarship is worth 2000 pounds which goes towards the first year of a student’s tuition fees. The award is part of the admission process, and the course one has chosen. There is no separate application form for this particular scholarship. Successful applicants will get notified in their offer letter.

Staffordshire Entry Requirements 

The minimum entry requirements at the undergraduate and postgraduate level are 

  • IELTS: 6.0 overall with a minimum of 5.5 in each component
  •  TOEFL IBT: overall a score of 80 with 17 in listening, 20 in speaking, 18 in reading and 17 in writing
  • PTE: A total score of 51, with 51 being the minimum in reading, writing, speaking and listening
  • Trinity College London Integrated Skills in English- ISEII: A pass in reading, writing, speaking and listening

An English language proficiency test/ proof is not necessary if the following options below apply:

  • If you are a national of an English -speaking country as specified by the general student visa.
  • If you are a U.K. national
  • If you have completed a full degree from a university in the U.K. and
  • If at present holding a Tier 4 child visa and want to switch to a Tier 4 General visa

 For those who don’t meet the requirements, the university offers a pre-sessional English course for the students.

There is so much to do and explore at Staffordshire. You can make most of the stunning countryside, historic towns and some of the beautiful world-class attractions.

In the country town of Staffordshire, you can explore historic streets with some good restaurants and a wide choice of cafes. Tudor houses in England can be found in the town, and if you love plays, then you must watch the  “Shakespeare under the star” event that takes place in the 900-year-old castle at Staffordshire. 

Staffordshire has stunning scenery right from Moorlands and the Hills of the Peak, to the Cannock Chase. These towns have historical, museums and world-class attractions like the Alton Towers and Drayton Manor Park. The Trent is the largest river, and you can walk or cycle along the canal towpath.

Stoke-on-Trent is the world capital of ceramics. It has a unique identity as “The Potteries”, the world-famous potteries like Wedgwood are worth seeing.

Stoke-on-Trent is a lively city, and you can relax in some of the “cool” cafes or take a leisure walk in some of their award-winning gardens. One can also catch a glimpse of the exhibitions and festivals. 

For the night birds, the night comes to life with some of the new cool bars in the area, and some rocking music at clubs so leave your hair down and dance.

Student Life

Staffordshire University is situated in the heart of England. It offers students an opportunity to connect with the rest of the country as well as with popular cities in Europe.

There are ways to get involved in the campus as the Student Union offers more than 80 clubs and societies to choose from. Besides the clubs and societies, the campus has excellent facilities for relaxation and study. The libraries are open 24-hrs, and there is a range of academic facilities. There are health centres, shops, nature reserves, and film theatres are available for students. The university has sports centres that are equipped fully. 

The university focuses on employability and has partnerships with some of the renowned global companies like Microsoft, CISCO, Amazon and Google.


on-campus accommodation is available across Stoke and Stafford. Stoke has over 1,000 rooms available either in student houses or traditional halls of residence. While Stafford has over 605 rooms.

Stoke -on -Tent has 3 halls of residence.

Clarice Cliff and College Court

If you prefer a chilled and relaxed place to stay, then Clarice Cliff is right next to the nature reserve and a short walk to the campus. The building is built around a courtyard space for a community feel.

College Court is only a ten-minute walk to College Road Campus. 

Both the halls are en-suite with a shared kitchen and lounge. There are 4-6 residents in each flat.

Leek Road Hall

If you want to be where the action is, then Leek Road halls offer a fun-packed living experience. There is a living room to relax, well-equipped and shared kitchen and dining space. There are 12-14 residents in each flat. each bedroom has a desk and chair, Shelves and wardrobe, desk and drawers, bedframe and mattress and washbasin

Leek Road house

If you want something homely, the terrace houses at Leek Road are just the thing. You will have your own bedrooms and shared bathroom facilities; there is an open kitchen, a large flat screen T.V. for movies and gaming.

Stafford Accommodation

The campus is a 15-minute walk to the main campus. The Stafford accommodation is en-suite study bedrooms, parking and inclusive of a gym membership. These flats are self-catering and comfortable. There are useful transport links to Stafford Town Centre as well as plenty of shops, bars and restaurants.
