About Lancaster University

Lancaster University is a public research university in the City of Lancaster, Lancashire, England. It is also officially known as the University of Lancaster. The university was established by Royal Charter in 1964 and was one of several new universities created in the 1960s. It was initially built in St Leonard’s Gate in the city centre but now has its own campus at Bailrigg.
