Fun Facts
  • Preston North End may not be thought of as an English football powerhouse today, but they won the league and the FA Cup in 1889 without losing the game all season. Only Arsenal (in 2004) has managed an undefeated top-level league campaign ever since.
  • With reference to alcohol abstention, the first use of the word ' teetotal ' was documented at a meeting of the Preston Temperance Society in 1833. However, you don't have to be a teetotaler, as the number of quality pubs and bars in the city shows.
