Hertfordshire University is one of the largest employers in Hertfordshire, with over 2,700 employees, 812 of whom are academics. It generated over £ 235 million in turnover.

The University of Hertfordshire is situated only 25 minutes by train from London, in the beautiful countryside north of the capital. The two campuses of the University of Hertfordshire in Hatfield are only a 10-minute walk away, linked by a network of paths, cycle routes and shuttle busses. Hatfield is a town of nearly 30,000 people in Hertfordshire County. It features many pubs and The Forum, a popular student entertainment venue. The town center is small but has a weekly market and a farmers ‘ market each month.
