Brief

Glasgow Caledonian University is a government college in Glasgow, Scotland (informally GCU, Caledonian or Caley). The fusion of The Queen’s College, Glasgow (founded 1875) and Glasgow Polytechnic (established 1971) created it in 1993. Home to more than 20,000 students, it is now one of the largest universities in Scotland and, with more than £ 45 million lately invested in state-of – the-art equipment, its primary campus in downtown Glasgow is considered to be one of the most contemporary campuses in the UK. The university consists of three colleges: the School of Engineering and Built Environment, the Business and Society School of Glasgow, and the Health and Life Sciences School. GCU is also present in New York City and in London’s Spitalfields, offering fashion postgraduate classes.

Fun Facts
  • Glasgow is inexpensive. Compared to most other UK cities (and US cities!) living in Glasgow, it's much cheaper to have the same amount of festivity.
  • Most people who have never lived in Glasgow imagine knife crime, alcoholism, and poverty when they think of this city, and even though it does exist, remember that it's a relatively safe place to live.
